Prison Island & Nakupenda Tours (FULL DAY TOURS)

Prison island is part of Zanzibar archipelago opened as tourist attraction and visited during the day,the island was once used as unofficial prison for rebellious slaves back in the 19th century but later an officially prison building built but never in use as prison and turned into a quarantine station for yellow fever,cholera and chicken pox

Today the island has become in use as among Zanzibar tourists attraction with two parts to visit inside,a tortoise sanctuary and a remained prison building

While you are inside the island,there are abundance of giant tortoise awaite you to welcome in,you can take a picture then visit prison cell being built as prison and finally take a motorboat back to main island
